The Best Chrome Extensions for Pinterest in 2026

The most useful Chrome extensions for Pinterest fall into three groups: Pinterest’s own Save to Pinterest button for saving ideas from other websites, a feed cleaner that removes ads and shopping clutter, and a downloader for saving images or whole boards. You probably want one from each group at most. Extensions only work in a desktop browser, not in the Pinterest app.

Before you install anything
Pinterest extensions ask for permission to read and change pinterest.com, and some ask for more. A few habits keep you safe:
- Check the permissions on the listing. A Pinterest tool rarely needs access to every website.
- Check the last update. Pinterest changes its pages often. An extension that hasn’t been updated in a year may be broken.
- Be wary of downloaders that send pins to their own site. Some pass the pin link to an outside website to do the download.
- Keep it to what you’ll use. Every extension you add runs on Pinterest’s pages and can slow them down.

Save to Pinterest is Pinterest’s official extension. It adds a Save button so you can pin images from any website to your boards, and it can find visually similar ideas. It’s free and made by Pinterest, so it’s the one to use for saving.

To download images and boards
For one image at a time

Remember that pins are other people’s work. Pinterest’s copyright page notes that the creator generally owns the copyright, so downloads are for personal reference unless you have permission.
